Jennifer H. - Director of Shared Learning
What I Do
Director of Shared Learning. My degree is in Library and Information Science. It's my job to keep abreast of all new research and business news in the dietary supplement industry, and pass the information along to other staff members who need to know about it. There is no such thing as a typical day in the office for me. I might be reading patents, searching scientific databases, or locating key business statistics. I spend most of my time in front of the computer or reading technical literature.
What I Take
Since I don't always eat as well as I should, I make sure to take a multivitamin (Doctor's Choice for Women) every day. To keep my heart strong I really like SmartQ10 chewable tablets (chocolate is my favorite!).† Being a small-boned woman, I make sure to get plenty of calcium every day. Liquid Calcium-Magnesium tastes delicious and is an easy way to increase my calcium intake.
Why I Take Them
Before I came to work at Enzymatic Therapy I didn't even take a daily multivitamin. But reading cutting-edge research on food and nutrition every day has driven home the connection between diet and exercise, and my health. I want to live the longest, healthiest life I can. That means I have to make smart lifestyle choices. Although I still have a ways to go before retirement, I know that good nutrition and the right supplements today can help me ensure a healthy and active life later.
When I'm Not at the Office
Living in northern Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan means that we have access to lots of open spaces -- woods, lakes, and plenty of parks. My husband and I like to spend time outdoors going birding, riding our bikes, and taking our dogs for hikes in the woods or swimming at the beach. I also spend lots of time working with the dogs, training and competing in obedience trials. My dogs are Leonbergers, a breed that originated in Germany but is still rather uncommon in the United States. These pictures show us at one of our favorite local parks, not far from Enzymatic Therapy, where we often come to play.
