Description
PredictEase intestinal balancing system is an effective blend of fiber, probiotics, and melatonin, designed to restore digestive predictability and provide fast-acting relief from occasional gastrointestinal discomforts by addressing three critical areas.
This exclusive formulation:
- Regulates bowel function to control loose stools and occasional constipation with a unique fiber blend
- Replenishes healthy microflora with live and active probiotics for sustained, digestive comfort
- Restores gastrointestinal motility with melatonin and allows the body time to relax and rebuild, thereby reducing occasional abdominal distress
The components of PredictEase were studied in combination and shown to promote comfortable bowel movements, providing gentle yet effective relief for cramping, bloating, loose stools, and occasional constipation—within two weeks with continued benefits throughout the month-long study. The all-in-one formula works with the body to naturally restore digestive health.
How Does It Work?
PredictEase intestinal balancing system targets intestinal health in three ways.
The unique formula quickly and effectively re-establishes healthy digestive function, supports healthy microflora balance, and soothes occasional abdominal distress.
STEP 1: REGULATE Healthy Bowel Function and Elimination
Dietary fiber is an essential nutrient that possesses a wide-range of health benefits. As the indigestible portion of plant foods, dietary fiber moves through the digestive system absorbing water, thereby promoting comfortable bowel movements.
Dietary fiber exists in two forms. Insoluble fiber, which does not readily dissolve in water, helps increase bulk, soften stools, and shorten transit time through the gastrointestinal tract. Sources of insoluble fiber include whole wheat, flax seed lignans, and certain vegetables, including celery and green beans. Soluble fiber, on the other hand, easily dissolves in water. It is fermented in the intestine to form a soft, gel-like substance, which promotes ease of elimination.1
PredictEase intestinal balancing system provides an effective blend of soluble fibers. The following chart details some of their key benefits:
| Ingredient | Benefit |
| Psyllium husk |
Psyllium husk, a rich source of concentrated soluble fiber, that has been shown to absorb up to 14 times its weight in water and has more reabsorption ability than any other bowel-supporting fiber.2 Psyllium husk supports healthy intestinal lubrication for ease in elimination.2-4 |
| Guar gum |
Guar gum is a dietary fiber derived from the seed of the guar plant. Research shows that guar gum supports healthy digestive regularity.5-7 |
| Pectin |
Derived from citrus fruits, pectin is a soluble fiber known for its adsorbent and bulk-forming properties. Pectin is used to regulate bowel function, easing both occasional constipation and loose stools.8 |
| Marshmallow |
Marshmallow root has been studied for its support of colon mucosa. Because of its mucilaginous (moist, sticky) properties, marshmallow offers soothing support for the intestinal wall and helps facilitate comfortable elimination.9 |
True Dispersion ™ Technology
PredictEase utilizes patent-pending True Dispersion Technology to ensure the psyllium, and other fibers, are completely released and dispersed in the colon for enhanced benefits. Unlike other psyllium supplements, which may not thoroughly disperse, this unique formulation will not clump. All components are fully released for optimum digestive results.10
STEP 2: REPLENISH Healthy Microflora
Probiotics are live and active bacteria that beneficially affect human health. A large body of research has demonstrated that lactic-acid bacteria, particularly those from the genera Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium, play an important role in healthy digestive, immunological, and other physiologic function.11,12
Stable probiotic supplements can beneficially alter the balance of microflora in the intestine and colon. Once established in the digestive tract, probiotics can support the body's natural anti-inflammatory response, reduce occasional constipation and alternating loose stools, and provide relief of gastrointestinal discomforts, including cramping, bloating, and gas.13,14
Clinical research has revealed that probiotics can provide fast-acting as well as long-term benefits. One year-long study with 25 volunteers found supplementation with probiotics, in combination with fiber, dramatically reduced occasional stomach discomforts, indigestion, and flatulence. Nearly all of the volunteers continued to receive increasing benefits throughout the study.15
Another 12-month trial found supplementation restored digestive predictability and provided complete relief of occasional gastrointestinal discomforts in 75 percent of study participants.16 A 4-week study involving 40 volunteers found administration of L. acidophilus reduced abdominal discomfort by 20 percent more than placebo group.17
Research has also demonstrated that L. acidophilus can reduce occasional abdominal distress by supporting healthy expression of mu-opioid and cannabinoid receptors in intestinal epithelial cells.18
Probiotic Protection
PredictEase combines two acid-resistant probiotic bacteria, Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium lactis, with melatonin and a protective fiber blend. The unique, dispersible fiber blend not only restores digestive function, but also serves as a buffer to harsh stomach acids.19 As the psyllium begins to hydrate and swell, it slows the penetration of stomach acid, so that the probiotics can be delivered alive and intact to the intestines.
STEP 3: RESTORE Intestinal Wellness & Reduce Occasional Abdominal Distress
Melatonin (5-methoxy-N-acetyltryptamine) is a hormone found in all living organisms. It is produced by the pineal gland, located in the center of the brain, and also by the eye's retina and lens, and the gastrointestinal system. Melatonin has been referred to as the “hormone of darkness” because production occurs during periods of darkness, but is inhibited by light. The secretion of melatonin peaks in the middle of the night, and gradually falls during the second half of the night. 20
Supplemental melatonin has been safely used to improve sleep quality by helping to re-establish a healthy circadian rhythm and day-night schedule, allowing the body adequate time to rebuild and restore function. It has also been studied for its antioxidant and immune-enhancing properties and for its involvement in the regulation of gastrointestinal motility (peristalsis).20
Clinical research has shown that melatonin can dramatically decrease occasional abdominal discomfort. One placebo-controlled trial involving 40 individuals, suffering occasional sleeplessness, examined the benefits of melatonin (3 mg) on bowel and sleep habits. After two weeks of supplementation, those taking melatonin had greatly reduced abdominal distress when compared to placebo. Individuals in the melatonin group experienced more than three times the benefit.21
Another study included 18 individuals (aged 18 to 65 years) who were randomly assigned to receive either 3 mg of melatonin or placebo at bedtime for 8 weeks. Participants were assessed both objectively (laboratory tests) and subjectively (quality of life questionnaires) throughout the trial and at 16, 24, and 48 weeks following study completion. Compared to the placebo group, individuals taking melatonin experienced up to 3.5 times more improvement in gastrointestinal function and digestive comfort. Furthermore, quality of life in the melatonin group was nearly three times that of the placebo group.22
PredictEase contains a low dose of melatonin to gently work with the body to restore gastrointestinal motility and optimal sleep patterns, allowing the body time to rebuild and reduce occasional abdominal discomforts. In addition, a recent study using the amount of melatonin found in PredictEase revealed that 42.5 percent of participants slept more soundly following supplementation.23
Clinical Evidence
When used in combination, the ingredients found in PredictEase intestinal balancing system have been shown to provide relief. A randomized, single-blind, three phase study involving 20 volunteers found that a similar combination of fiber, probiotics, and melatonin, quickly restored and helped maintain healthy digestive function.23
Phase I of the trial was designed to find the optimal dosage of melatonin. Participants were randomized to receive either 200 mcg, 500 mcg, or 1 mg of melatonin 30 minutes before bedtime. After one week, subjects were asked to complete a subjective questionnaire detailing the sleep benefits following supplementation.
Based on the findings of the first study phase, phases II and III were designed to assess the benefits of the proprietary fiber blend, a combination of probiotics, and 1.1. mg of melatonin. A second and third questionnaire was completed by the study participants after two weeks (II) and four weeks (III) of supplementation, respectively.
At completion of the study, reported benefits included:
- Participants experienced nearly complete relief (over 95 percent) of the most common gastrointestinal symptoms, including digestive predictability, bloating, loose stools, and occasional constipation
- There was an 81.7 percent improvement in abdominal discomfort following supplementation
- The majority of participants (64 percent) reported increased comfort during elimination
- More than 64 percent of participants stated the combination helped them fall asleep faster and 50 percent reported improved sleep
- No serious adverse effects were reported23
Conclusion
PredictEase intestinal balancing system has been shown to provide fast-acting relief of occasional gastrointestinal discomforts by addressing three critical areas. The exclusive formulation regulates bowel function, replenishes healthy microflora, and restores sleep quality to effectively establish digestive predictability and provide natural, soothing relief of occasional abdominal distress.
